5-7-3 breathing technique is a simple way to reduce your breathing rate, enhance your oxygen, intake, lower your blood pressure and heart rate and stimulate the Vagus nerve which calms both the mind and body. Its protocol is as follows: inhale through the nose for a five count, exhale through the nose for a seven count, and hold your breath for a three count. When done properly, it reduces your breath rate to 4-6 breaths per minute which is substantially lower than what the typical human breathes in today’s society…17-20.
